The European Festival of Brass 2014 will take place throughout Scotland from 26th April - 11th May, with key events being hosted in the Fair City of Perth from 26th April - 4th May 2014, including The 2014 European Brass Band Championships, 6th European Solo Championships and the inaugural European Youth Brass Band Contest. In addition, the engagement of communities across the country during the extended festival period will present a diverse variety of showcase performances, workshops, exhibitions, master-classes and presentations to spotlight Scotland’s musical heritage on a global stage.
An innovative approach to the festival's programme enables Scotland's creativity to be presented to local and international audiences through commissioned works written by Scottish composers, performed by all the participating bands and to be offered as a legacy for the future.
The European Festival of Brass 2014 offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the many facets of brass music and Scotland's diverse musical heritage. The Scottish Brass Band Association looks forward to welcoming visitors and participants from across the globe to experience this world-class festival.
